THE Menendez brothers have appeared together in court for the first time in decades as they pursue their appeal for resentencing.
Erik and Lyle Menendez were depicted in a court sketch during a recent hearing, dressed in blue prison attire and appearing tense as they participated remotely via video from prison.

The Menendez brothers stood before a judge in California for a significant resentencing hearing aimed at potentially securing their release over three decades after the tragic killing of their parents, Kitty and Jose Menendez.
In the sketch, the brothers appear stone-faced as they listen to lawyers’ arguments in the courtroom.
During the hearing, Erik, 54, was nervously biting his nails as Lyle, 57, looked tired with a straight face, TMZ reported.
The brothers have spent more than 30 years behind bars and are hoping renewed public interest in their case will aid their appeal for resentencing.
After being found guilty of the murders in 1994, the brothers were sentenced to life without parole.
The case of the Menendez brothers and the 1989 murders of Kitty and Jose resurged in public interest recently following the airing of Ryan Murphy’s Netflix series, Monsters: The The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.
The nine-episode show depicts the story of Erik, played by Cooper Koch, and Lyle, played by Nicholas Alexander Chavez, after they were accused and later convicted of shooting their parents several times in their Beverly Hills home.
Cooper Koch even appeared at the hearing in Los Angeles on the morning of April 11.
The actor sat with Erik’s wife, Tammi, and the couple’s daughter, Talia Menendez.
The brothers were first arrested for the murders on March 8, 1990.
Erik was 18 at the time of the murder and Lyle was 21.
The trial for the murders began three years later, in 1993, and the brothers said relied of the “imperfect self-defense” defense, claiming that their father Jose had been sexually abusing them for years.
The brothers said that the alleged sexual abuse led them to want to kill their parents.
