Police conducted a search on Thursday for a missing Alabama toddler who is presumed dead following his disappearance in September.
There was a significant police presence at Kahleb Collins’ residence in Glen Allen according to reports by WABM. Collins has been missing for several weeks following the tragic deaths of his father and sister in a car accident in Fayette County on December 8, a crash that Collins was not involved in.
The mother of the children, 22-year-old Wendy Bailey, was charged on Wednesday in connection with her daughter’s death. Despite the fact that the father was driving during the accident, authorities found Bailey responsible for negligence as she failed to secure her daughter before the collision which led to her daughter’s death and serious injuries.

Alongside charges of negligent homicide, Bailey is facing accusations of child abuse for her failure to act upon and report the abuse that Collins endured at the hands of his father back in July. Investigators revealed that Bailey witnessed Collins being physically harmed and bound with rope on multiple occasions, ultimately leading to his injuries and suffering.
Bailey is also charged with abusing a corpse as investigators believe Collins has been dead for several months. Authorities said Collins’ body was put in a bag and stashed in a storage building. His body was eventually discarded at an unknown location, they also said.
Days after the deadly wreck, Collins’ grandfather, John Bailey, 50, was arrested for failing to report Kahleb Collins’ disappearance. He remains jailed on $100,000 bond. Wendy Bailey also remains jailed.
