Prosecutors to Sift Through 1 TB of Data in Suzanne Simpson Murder Case

In Bear County last week, Brad Simpson, a Texas man accused of murdering his wife, attended a short hearing where the judge granted both sides more time to present evidence.

The police detained Simpson, aged 54, in relation to the disappearance of Suzanne Suzanne, aged 51, in 2024. She was last spotted at their residence in Olmos Park on October 6.

He is currently charged with first-degree felony murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing severe bodily harm, offenses that carry a potential life imprisonment sentence.

On Wednesday, his attorneys filed a motion to dismiss the indictment, but the court denied it. During the brief hearing, both the prosecution and defense acknowledged that the discovery remains incomplete and requested more time to gather evidence.

The judge suggested a 90-day period to reschedule the discovery hearing, but both parties agreed they could reconvene sooner, according to FOX News Digital.

The prosecution will sift through one terabyte of data while awaiting the completion of outstanding forensic testing. They anticipate receiving about six terabytes of evidence from the Texas Rangers.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, the prosecution and police allege that Simpson killed Suzanne on October 6 and then concealed her body the next day. Although she remains missing, a detailed warrant outlined  alleged suspicious behavior the morning after, following a heated argument.

Investigators found that Brad Simpson turned his phone on and off while driving from San Antonio to the Texas Hill Country the next day, with items in his truck. He bought concrete, visited a dump site, and spent 13 minutes in Bandera, where officials believe he unloaded a large object from his pickup, according to court records.

The next hearing is set for March 12, according to the 437th District Court.

Simpson remains in the Bexar County Jail with a combined bond set at $3 million.
