A professor at West Point resigned due to changes in education influenced by the Trump administration. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth criticized the resignation, which followed the professor’s 13-year tenure at the academy.
Graham Parsons, a philosophy professor at West Point, announced his resignation. Hegseth expressed his thoughts on social media after Parsons left.
“You will not be missed Professor Parsons,” Hegseth wrote in response to Parsons’ resignation.
In a New York Times op-ed, Parsons mentioned departing because the academy is moving away from its educational values, partly due to changes brought by the Trump administration.

In his op-ed, he claimed the results have yielded “a sweeping assault on the school’s curriculum and the faculty members’ research.”
Upon his departure from the academy, his landing page on the West Point website was removed.
