When Will ‘The Chosen’ Season 6 Be Released?

The fifth season of The Chosen has concluded recently, with the final three episodes now available on Prime Video. Fans of Dallas Jenkins’ acclaimed historical drama depicting the life of Jesus are left wondering about the franchise’s future.

Thankfully, we already have the answer.

It has been confirmed that the series will continue for two more seasons. Season 6’s finale and Season 7’s premiere will first hit theaters as standalone films before becoming accessible on Prime Video. However, viewers will have to wait a while for this to happen, as the Season 6 finale is not set for theatrical release until March 12, 2027.

So… um… time to rewatch Seasons 1-4, I guess!

When exactly can you expect The Chosen Season 6 to find its way to Prime Video? Here’s everything we know.

Season 5 consists of eight episodes. The final three episodes of The Chosen debuted Sunday, June 29 on Amazon.

Exciting news for fans as the journey of The Chosen doesn’t end with Season 5. The filming for Season 6 began in April 2025, indicating a promising continuation of the beloved series. The plan remains for the Season 6 finale and Season 7 premiere to eventually reach theaters before being made available on Prime Video.

Deadline reports that the sixth season finale of The Chosen debuts in theaters on March 12, 2027. The theatrical release will be preceded by Season 6 streaming on Prime Video and followed by the Season 7 premiere hitting the big screen on March 31, 2028. Season 7 will eventually find its way to Prime Video following the theatrical run of the premiere.

No official streaming release date has been announced, but based on the Season 6 finale’s theatrical release date, we expect the sixth season of The Chosen to premiere in late 2026 or early 2027 on Prime Video.

All five seasons of The Chosen are currently streaming on Prime Video. Per Forbes, the fifth season will begin streaming for free on The Chosen app/website on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
