Jessica Alba, 43, ignites dating speculations with younger comedian, 35, at Oscars event shortly after divorcing

Jessica Alba seems to be moving forward after her breakup with Cash Warren by spending time with stand-up comedian Alex Edelman. Alex was recently romantically linked with model Kaia Gerber.

During the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party, Jessica Alba and Alex Edelman, aged 43 and 35 respectively, left the event together, sparking speculations about a budding romance.

As they exited the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, Alex’s olive green tuxedo jacket was seen draped over Jessica’s shoulders.

As they walked out, Edelman wrapped his arms around the mother-of-three, who officially filed for divorce from Warren after 16 years of marriage on February 7. 

At the event, the comedian, who won a Tony and Emmy Award last year, was also pictured mingling with Olivia Wilde, Nikki Glaser and Reneé Rapp. 

Despite recently supporting Gerber by attending her play, Evanston Salt Costs Climbing, it is unknown if the Palm Royale actress and Edelman interacted at all. 

Gerber seemingly spent the majority of the night with Charlie Walker, who exited the bash at the same time as her. 

In recent months the Saturday Night actress has been seen in the company of Outer Range star Lewis Pullman, 32, who is the son of actor Bill Pullman. 

Before Lewis, the cover girl was dating Elvis actor Austin Butler. 

Meanwhile, Alba shared pictures inside the bash with Sydney Sweeney, Sofia Vergara, Lauren Sánchez, Jeff Bezos 

The Vanity Fair Oscars party guest list also included comedians and other public figures like Mick Jagger, Olivia Rodrigo Miley Cyrus, Kendall Jenner and more. 

This marks the first time Alba was seen with someone new since calling it quits with Warren. 

Last month, with the help of celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, she filed for divorce without a prenup.

The Sin City star listed ‘irreconcilable differences’ for the reason of their split, according to legal documents, obtained by DailyMail.com.

In the filing, it was noted that the exact nature of their community, quasi-community assets, and separate property and obligations are ‘unknown’ and ‘will be determined.’ 

Her estranged spouse, 46, followed suit immediately as he filed with assistance from attorney Adam Lipsic.

Both stars are asking for joint physical and legal custody of their kids Honor, 16, and Haven 13, and Hayes, 7.

They both listed their date of separation as December 27.

Although there is a huge amount on money at stake, sources told TMZ that the divorce is ‘extremely amicable.’

In 2016, Forbes estimated Alba’s net worth was around $340 million due to the success The Honest Company, which she founded in 2011.

Five years later, they retracted the report and said with her ‘6% stake (including options)’ in the brand, she ‘would only be worth just under $100 million.’

‘That is far less than the $340 million Forbes estimated she was worth when we estimated her stake to be 20% and put her on our 2016 list of America’s most successful self-made women,’ the publication explained in their correction.

Like his wife, Warren has found success as an entrepreneur after launching his underwear and sock company, Pair of Thieves, valued at around $100 million.

In January, a legal expert told DailyMail.com that the couple’s split could get ‘complicated’ as various factors come into play.

Alba’s money comes not just from her high-profile acting career which includes films such as Into The Blue, Honey and Sin City. But it also is from her success as the founder of Honest Company.

The Honest Company, Inc. is a consumer goods company based in Los Angeles and founded by Alba, Christopher Gavigan, and Brian Lee. The company is valued at roughly $640 million.

Among their assets is a $10M Beverly Hills mansion that they bought in 2017.

DailyMail.com checked in with attorney Yonatan Levoritz, Founder of Levoritz Law Firm, an award-winning New York City-based family law firm, about what the couple may be facing.

‘After a 17-year marriage, there may be an award of alimony/maintenance to the non-monied spouse,’ said Yonatan.

If Alba had a prenup with Warren, the settlement would have been a lot easier.

‘One of the most valuable lessons from celebrity divorces is the importance of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements,’ the lawyer added.

‘These legal agreements can pre-emptively resolve potential disputes by clearly outlining how assets and spousal support will be handled in the event of a divorce. Even for those without substantial wealth, these agreements provide clarity and can prevent costly and time-consuming legal battles.

‘In terms of the business, if there is no prenup or postnup then at that point in time, the business will have to be valued and then divided. Most times courts do not like when people continue to share businesses so there will probably be a buyout of the interest.’

The value of their massive home in Los Angeles may be an issue and might have to be sold.

‘In high-profile divorces, real estate often becomes a major point of contention,’ said Levoritz.

 ‘Whether it’s a luxury penthouse or a sprawling estate, these properties hold both financial and emotional value. Dividing real estate assets requires careful negotiation and a solid understanding of property laws. Anyone going through a divorce should be prepared to address real estate disputes.’

Then there is the question of whether spousal support will come up.

Calculating spousal support in ‘high-asset cases’ can be challenging due to the substantial finances involved, the lawyer stated.

‘The goal is to balance the lifestyle needs of the children and the spouse with available resources,’ Levoritz added.

‘A lifestyle analysis, a tool commonly used in celebrity divorces, can be an effective method to assess spending habits and determine fair support payments.’

They will also have to work hard to protect the privacy of their three children. There may even be a gag order so neither can talk about the kids. Photos of the children are often seen on Alba’s social media accounts.

‘Since they have children who are minors, the court will likely allow the custodial parent to remain in the former marital residence,’ said Yonatan.

‘There is also a significant chance that co-parenting therapists will be assigned to aid in the custody case.’

Yonatan finished with: ‘Finally, these parties may want to take a low profile, unlike Brad and Angelina. Their high-profile divorce likely added fuel to the flames of the divorce.’

In January, the actress took to Instagram with a typed note announced the end of her marriage to Warren.

‘I’ve been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years – both as an individual and in partnership with Cash,’ began her message as she did not allow comments.

‘I’m proud of how we’ve grown in our marriage over the last 20 years and it’s now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals.

‘We are moving forward with love, kindness and respect for each other and will forever be family.’

Alba ended with, ‘Our children remain our highest priority and we request privacy at this time,’ as she added a white heart emoji.

Warren met the Dark Angel actress on the set of the Fantastic Four in 2004 and got married in May 2008.
