Real Housewives of Potomac star Karen Huger did not attend the Season 9 reunion taping held in New York City Jan. 9, and now fans will know why.
Huger’s team put out a statement to Bravo’s The Daily Dish, revealing Huger has entered a recovery facility.
Karen had to miss the reunion taping today as she chose to enroll in a private recovery program, as confirmed by her manager Ryan Tresdale. Her decision was fully supported, and Karen is being encouraged as she begins this important journey. The team stands by her and commends her for taking a significant step forward in her personal development.
Even though Karen was not present, Andy Cohen hosted the Season 9 reunion with her long-time castmates, including Gizelle Bryant, Mia Thornton, Ashley Darby, Dr. Wendy Osefo, Stacey Rusch, and Kiearna Stewart.
Bravo shared a seating chart for the reunion on social media, which notably did not include Huger.
This update follows Karen’s legal troubles, where she faced multiple charges such as DUI and DWI after a car accident in March 2024. Karen is awaiting sentencing scheduled for Jan. 29.
Huger has discussed the accident on Season 9, though she once noted during a meeting with Bryant that she couldn’t share too many details about what happened because it’s considered a “legal matter.”
“While I cannot talk about things in detail since the case has not been adjudicated, I will say this: The injuries, thank God, are not life threatening. It’s my ribs and my ankle and that’s it. Thank God,” Karen said in a confessional on the show. “I know the value of life more now than ever.”
Huger also blamed her emotional state for the accident.
“I think everything that I’m going through contributed to my accident. Grief. Marriage problems,” she revealed on the show. “Everything has something to do with where I’m at emotionally right now which was the state I was in during that incident.”
A premiere date for the The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9 reunion has not been announced yet.
