A Florida man told deputies he “felt bad ” after slashing another man with a machete, so he took his victim to the hospital.
According to Law&Crime, 35-year-old Angel Ramos-Arce was arrested on Monday and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery causing bodily harm.
The incident unfolded outside a convenience store in Osceola County. As per an arrest affidavit, Ramos-Arce entered the Circle K store and engaged in a verbal altercation with an employee, prompting the employee to seek assistance from her brother.
Upon the brother and the employee’s boyfriend arriving at the scene, the boyfriend intervened, positioning himself between the brother and Ramos-Arce. Subsequently, Ramos-Arce struck the boyfriend before fleeing to his vehicle to retrieve a machete, citing his intent to “intimidate” the two individuals who, in his eyes, dwarfed him in size.
The boyfriend and brother ran off upon seeing the machete, and Ramos-Arce followed them. He slashed the brother’s arm when he caught up with them, which he said was accidental. He said he “felt bad” for having cut the man, so he told him to get in his truck so they could go to the hospital.
The Circle K employee identified the suspect’s truck to deputies, who followed it to a nearby hospital. There, they found the victim’s blood and the machete inside the truck, and he was arrested.
