In the latest installment, Tricia Fukuhara, star of “Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies,” answers some questions about her journey to success and her life on set. Fukuhara’s casting as Nancy in Paramount+’s “Rise of the Pink Ladies” was the result of hard work and determination. She was juggling three odd jobs in Los Angeles when she auditioned for the role, which she eventually landed during a shift at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Throughout her career, Fukuhara has been part of a community of actors and creatives, many of whom are also struggling to make it. When Frankie Rodriguez, one of her friends and coworkers, landed a significant role in “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” Fukuhara felt a sense of pride and hope that she too could make it, despite the many challenges.

Filming for “Rise of the Pink Ladies” took place in Vancouver, Canada, in 2022, and Fukuhara remembers the first day of shooting vividly. She and her co-stars had to sing and act in a scene that required them to lie on a bed and hold hands as they were lifted into the air. Fukuhara was fearful but felt that the bond they formed made all the difference. The series is a new direction for the classic movie, “Grease,” and Fukuhara feels proud to have played such a significant role in the new iteration.

Fukuhara also answered some questions about her life outside of acting, including the last musical she watched, the last time she was starstruck, and the last thing she did for self-care. Throughout the interview, Fukuhara’s love for creativity and self-expression shine through, revealing her as a talented and inspiring artist.
