Lucas Tindall, 3, delights with his cheeky antics as he joins parents Mike and Zara at New Year's Day meeting at Cheltenham Racecourse

The youngest child of Mike and Zara Tindall was full of excitement as he accompanied his parents to the New Year’s Day racing event at Cheltenham Racecourse.

During the family outing, the playful three-year-old displayed a lot of energy and looked absolutely charming in a black zip-up coat, trousers, and stylish white sneakers.

Photos from the annual event in Gloucestershire showed the toddler excitedly cheering in the stands whilst holding onto a piece of bread for a snack.

Elsewhere in other shots little Lucas seemed put out by the rainy and windy weather and was visibly frustrated at the stormy conditions.

He pulled a face at the grey skies, looking visibly horrified and upset by the overcast conditions.

In other scenes the playful child could be seen swinging around while holding onto handlebars while watching the races.

Meanwhile, Mike and Zara appeared loved up as ever as they enjoyed a day out with their children.

To celebrate the start of the New Year, Princess Anne’s daughter and her spouse embraced each other warmly while bringing their children Lena, six, Lucas, three, and Mia, 10, along for the occasion.

Her brother Peter Phillips also braved the rain on to attend with his partner Harriet Sperling.

It comes as Zara Tindall arrived alongside her husband Mike Tindall and their children as they joined the royals the Christmas Day service at Sandringham last week.

The family were also joined by Zara’s brother Peter Philips as they were welcomed by fans of the royals who have been waiting near the church since yesterday evening.

Dressed in a plum-coloured long coat, she walked towards the service hand in hand with her daughter Lena Tindall, 6, with her niece Isla Phillips on her other side.

The couple’s older daughter Mia Tindall, 11, and her father Mike followed behind Prince William and Kate Middleton and their children – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and six-year-old Prince Louis.

Also in the walking party was the Princess Royal and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.

Members of the royal family who walked to the service were greeted at the foot of the steps to the church by the Reverend Canon Dr Paul Rhys Williams.

While Catherine, Princess of Wales, often takes the spotlight for her fashion choices, Zara Tindall has become a stylish dark horse.

Zara, who recently attended Kate’s carol concert, ended her year with a bold fashion move, having recently launched her very own line of clothing.

Often named one of the most fashionable royals, Zara opened up about her style choices and hailed her mother, Princess Anne, for teaching her the importance of ‘good quality clothing’.

Zara has worked in collaboration with Musto and Fairfax & Favor to create a collection of jackets, which range in price from £350 to £450.

The collection, named Odyssey, includes ‘very versatile’ styles, including both longline and shorter styles to suit every outdoor activity this autumn and winter.

She said the jackets combine the strongest parts of two of her favourite brands.

Zara said: ‘Combining Musto’s technical prowess and Fairfax & Favor’s quintessentially British style has resulted in a collection of coats I’m looking forward to wearing this winter.’

She also told The Telegraph that her mother, the Princess Royal, has influenced what she values most when choosing her clothing.

She said: ‘Mum taught me the importance of having good quality clothing that keeps you warm and comfortable outdoors.

‘As a sportswoman who spends most of my time in nature, this is more important than ever to help me stay at my best.’

The jackets created by Zara include the longline Odyssey Waterproof Coat, which comes in dark navy or forest green, and includes a removable hood.

The coat retails for £395, but also comes in a shorter jacket form for £350.

There’s also the padded Pertex Primaloft coat – in both long and short styles – which retails for £450 and £380 respectively.

Zara said of the styles: ‘These jackets are the perfect choice for staying warm and dry, as the colder, wetter weather starts to set in.

‘I have worn Musto for years, and it’s the perfect kit for riding horses, walking the dogs, and being outside, all of which I love.’

The entrepreneurial royal is also alleged to have been paid hundreds of thousands of pounds by a Hong Kong tycoon as part of China’s shadowy foreign influence network, The Mail on Sunday revealed.

A well-known figure in society circles, Dr Johnny Hon, 53, attended the wedding of Prince Andrew’s daughter, Princess Eugenie and has been photographed with a string of politicians including Tony Blair and David Cameron.

Sarah Ferguson received almost £300,000 from a firm chaired by the wealthy businessman, while Zara Tindall signed up to advise him for around £100,000 a year in 2017.But this newspaper has uncovered Dr Hon’s ties to organisations that experts say are part of the Chinese Communist Party’s secretive campaign to wield influence abroad.
