M62 live traffic updates with Leeds and Bradford delays up to Huddersfield

A crash on the M62 Eastbound is currently causing a number of delays for drivers as we approach Friday rush hour.

Around 2pm on Friday, September 8, data traffic site Intrix reported that the crash happened on between J26, Bradford on the M606, and J1 at Chain Bar, Leeds, as well as J27 M621, at Gildersome. This has lead to long delays for drivers and congestion leading up to just before J24, Ainley Top in Huddersfield.

Initially all traffic was stopped, and now one of three lanes has been closed. National Highways reports the incident involved a number of vehicles, and there are six miles of delays. Emergency services are at the scene.

Drivers are advised to avoid the areas as travel time is around one hour and 15 minutes. Standstill queues are dominating the M62 Eastbound. Lane one, of three, on the motorway has been closed.

Motorway Cameras reports normal traffic conditions are expected between 3.45pm and 4pm.
