Father & Son Arrested in Connection With October Murder of Woman the Father Had Dated

A southeast Georgia father and son have been charged with the death of a 34-year-old mother who was gunned down in front of her house in October.

Tracy Bryant Sr., 53, and Tracy Bryant Jr., 30, were arrested for drug-related offenses following a search warrant served in Waycross. The search, initially related to a murder investigation, uncovered illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia. Despite reports of felony and malice murder charges against the father-son duo, these charges have not yet appeared in online jail records.

Police records say the younger Bryant drove his father to the home of Kimberly Guess on October 17, where he shot her multiple times.

Before the arrest, Bryant Sr. had been the former supervisor of the victim, Guess, at Clayton Homes in Waycross. The two had previously been in a relationship during their time working together but had since ended it, according to statements from the Blackshear Police.

Guess’s mother, Shirley Lee, said he had been stalking her.

According to Lee, a spokesperson for the Police Department, Guess had informed Bryant Sr. on the Tuesday preceding her death that she wanted him to cease contact and stop stalking her. Lee suggested Bryant Sr. failed to comprehend this request, leading to the events that transpired on that fateful Thursday morning.

Guess’s familiy said they had long suspected the elder Bryant of involvement in Guess’s death but were surprised to learn the son was involved.

Court documents say Bryant Jr. drover his father to Guess’s home, where he shot her multiple times and then fled the scene.

According to jail records, the Bryants are being held without bond in Ware County.  The murder charges are likely to be filed in Pierce County, where Blackshear is located.
