The husband of a Fort Campbell soldier found dead last year with nearly 70 stab wounds has been arrested in connection with her murder.
Sofia Rodas, aged 35, faced charges of first-degree murder and evidence tampering in connection with the death of PFC Katia Dueñas Aguilar. Aguilar’s spouse, 40-year-old Reynaldo Salinas Cruz, was accused of evidence tampering, according to the Clarksville Police Department.
Rodas and Cruz were already in federal custody for different reasons when the Clarksville Police Department filed charges related to Aguilar’s death. Subsequently, they were returned to Montgomery County Jail, where the formal charges were presented to them.

Aguilar, a 23-year-old from Mesquite, Texas, was discovered deceased in her Clarksville residence near the Army post on the Kentucky-Tennessee border on May 18, 2024, as reported by CrimeOnline. She joined the Army in 2018 and relocated to Fort Campbell a year later, where she served as a member of the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade within the 101st Airborne Division.
She was the mother of a 4-year-old son.
Aguilar’s family and The League of United Latin American Citizens had offered a $55,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
