A Kentucky man was killed last week when he was struck by a vehicle while hanging out the window of the car he was riding in.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said that Michael Orchard, 34, died from multiple blunt force trauma on January 23, according to WLKY.
Louisville Metro Police originally stated that the driver deliberately veered into oncoming traffic, resulting in Orchard being struck by another vehicle. They reported that the driver was apprehended after attempting to escape from the scene. However, the following day it was revealed by the Louisville Courier Journal that this individual was not actually driving the vehicle and therefore was not accountable for Orchard’s death.
Police are investigating the case as a homicide.
