A man in his 40s has died after his car plunged into water with police now launching an appeal on the horrifying incident.
The fatal event took place on the Isle of Wight last night and police are asking anyone who may have information or witnessed it to come forward.
The Hampshire & Isle of Wight police were alerted at 11.28pm on Saturday, November 30th, about a car that had gone into the water close to Shore Road in Gurnard.
The driver of a Ford Mondeo – a man from Ryde – was the only person inside the vehicle and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin was informed by officers.
