Map reveals last known movements of missing mum, 35, with ‘distinctive dragon tattoo’ who vanished on trip to Morrisons

A MAP has revealed the last known sighting of a missing mum, 35, who vanished months ago.

Yesterday, cops released fresh images of Charlene Hobbs at a property in Adamsdown, Cardiff on July 24.

Cops initially said she was last seen on July 19, but the latest sighting was confirmed through a photograph verified by police.

Ms Hobbs’ hair bun and dragon tattoo can also be seen in the image taken on mobile which revealed a hidden clue, said the force.

Further mobile phone analysis indicates that later that evening Charlene may have been texting and calling people known to her, to possibly meet up.

The new photo of Charlene has been verified as being taken in Broadway at 6.07am on July 24.

Charlene is also wearing the same strapless top as the previous day when she was spotted on CCTV at a local Morrisons store.

South Wales Police says officers conducted extensive enquiries since Ms Hobbs, from the Riverside area, was first reported missing.

Cops searching for Charlene have combed several homes, cars, derelict buildings and patches of open land.

They have also spoken to the missing person’s friends and looked through CCTV footage of areas Charlene is “known to frequent”.

One of the vehicles seized as part of the investigation into Ms Hobbs’ disappearance is a Nissan Micra found in St Helen’s Close, Abergavenny, on 29 October.

The car was originally red and largely painted black, but was found burnt-out.

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Powell, from South Wales Police, said: “Charlene is a mother, a sister, a daughter, and a friend to many.

“Like us, they are all very concerned for her welfare and are desperate for answers.

“There are several possible explanations for Charlene’s disappearance, and we are keeping an open mind as we do all we can to establish what has happened to her.”

Police have appealed for information regarding the calls and messages Ms Hobbs sent, or from anyone who may have met up with her on the evening of July 24.

Two men, aged 45 and 43, and a 38-year-old woman, who were arrested in connection with the investigation, have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The force is asking anyone with information to get in touch with officers, quoting reference 2400353044.

Last month, Charlene’s family urged their loved one to come home.

“Charlene, we are desperate to have you home,” they said in a statement.

“We have been out looking for you and will continue to do all we can to try to find you, and to understand what may have happened.

“We would ask that any friends of Charlene’s or anyone who may know her, who may have any information about her disappearance to please come forward.”

DCI Powell added: “We can only imagine how distressing this must be for Charlene’s family and friends.

“We continue to do everything possible, with the information available, to find her.

“We are keeping an open mind as to Charlene’s movements and whereabouts.

“We are extremely grateful to the public who have contacted us with information and possible sightings.

“These are all being fully investigated but unfortunately none have yet been confirmed as being Charlene.”
