Good Morning Britain fans all shared the same issue as Martin Lewis replaced Ed Balls on Wednesday’s instalment of the ITV show.Â
The money guru, 53, joined co-star Susanna Reid, 54, in the studio to discuss the latest news stories.Â
Susanna presents the programme Monday to Wednesday, along with alternative Thursdays, alongside Ed, 58, Richard Madeley, 69, and Kate Garraway, 58.
Martin – who presents The Martin Lewis Money Show Live – first appeared on Good Morning Britain as a presenter in 2023.
People were surprised to see him on TV on Wednesday and went on X, which used to be called Twitter, to express their thoughts. Many admitted that they found it difficult to keep up with him.
One person commented, ‘I understand that having Martin on is informative, but he makes me nervous. I would be surprised if the average GMB viewer can understand what he’s saying, he talks so fast.’
‘I appreciate them having Martin Lewis on to give advice, but by god he speaks so fast. #GMB.’
‘My goodness, Martin Lewis can’t half speak fast. When he gets going it’s hard to keep up with him.Â
‘Top knowledgeable guy though. Not moaning, just noting.’
‘I think it’s too early for Martin Lewis’ shouty advice and screamy graphs.’
‘Martin doing his ‘stare at the desk intently whilst Susanna reads out a query face’.’
Although Martin does plenty of work on TV to help the UK save some cash, he does also appear on This Morning to present the show as well.Â
Earlier this month, Martin got emotional and ranted about online scammers during a segment on This Morning, saying ‘it’s ridiculous.’
The star appeared on ITV to chat to hosts Cat Deeley, 48, and Ben Shepherd, 50, and answer some viewer’s money concerns.
And unfortunately there is still an online scam going around using Martin’s face.Â
As Ben read out what had happened, Martin sighed in disbelief and then after he had finished, took a long pause before replying with: ‘I’m very sorry to hear it.
‘It’s just ridiculous that this is still going on.
‘It is ridiculous that the current government and past government have never had the balls to take on big tech and their scams.
‘They have not properly regulated them, they have not done what they need to do which is to make it more expensive for them to publish these scam ads with huge fines and huge levies against them if they do.’
And on Tuesday Susanna Reid had a brutal four-word response to Richard Madeley as he bragged about never ageing on his 69th birthday on Good Morning Britain.Â
The 54-year-old reminded viewers just minutes into the instalment that it was a special day for her co-host.
Susanna told Richard: ‘I would like to say a huge happy birthday Richard Madeley! I’d like to point out that Richard does not like to make a fuss. But we do…’
The journalist then told him to tell the viewers how old he would be turning, to which Richard said: ‘I’m 69 today. But it’s for my sins.
‘I’ve been on television almost every day since the late 1970s, so it’s a bit like Jeremy Clarkson was writing in the paper in The Sunday Times this week, if you look at yourself in the shaving mirror every day, you can’t see yourself getting older.
‘But if you looked every three months, you’d notice it. I’m on every day here. Mostly. So of course I’m aging…
‘Obviously I am but because I’m on all the time, it’s possibly not as noticeable.’
Susanna brutally replied: ‘You’re talking absolute nonsense.’
She continued: ‘You’re not on every day. I don’t know what delulu world you’re in where you’re on every day.’
Richard said: ‘Two weeks out of the four!’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 from 6am and is available to stream on ITVX.Â
