Brad Warner experienced the tragic loss of his daughter, Samantha Miller, who passed away in a car accident on the day of her wedding.
In December 2024, he appeared in court where he clashed with Jamie Lee Komoroski, who crashed into his daughter’s vehicle.
Wedding tragedy
Brad’s daughter married her husband Aric Hutchinson on April 28, 2023, in Folly Beach, South Carolina.
Samantha’s sister Mandi described the wedding as the “happiest day” of her sister’s life.
However, when Samantha and Aric started to head home, they were caught in a terrifying car crash.
Komoroski collided with their vehicle, while drunk and driving at 65mph, and Samantha passed away at the scene.
Aric was rushed to hospital, where he made a recovery.
Anger in the courtroom
Komoroski pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and causing Samantha’s death in December 2024.
During the court case, Brad revealed his anger at Komoroski’s actions.
He said: “You have ruined so many people’s lives, and I hope you understand what you did.”
He added:“For the rest of my life I’m always going to hate you, and when you arrive in Hell, I’m going to open the gate for you.”
Samantha’s brother Nathan addressed Komoroski in court too and said: “It wasn’t an accident to go over 65mph on Folly Beach’s tiny, dark roads.”
Komoroski’s sentence
On December 3, 2024, Komoroski was sentenced to a maximum of 25 years in prison.
In court, she said: “On the night of April 22, 2023, I chose to drink and drive, which resulted in the death of Samantha Miller.
“This is the worst decision I have ever made in my life.”
She added: “Due to my poor decisions, a beautiful wife, sister, and daughter was taken.
“All I can say is how incredibly remorseful I am.
“I want them to know how sorry I am from the bottom of my heart and that I take full responsibility for my actions.
“I will always be devastated, deeply ashamed, and terribly sorry for what I have done.”
