Meet the Next Generation of TV Stars: Amanda Holden, Tess Daly, and Kate Garraway’s Daughters on Their Path to Success

Amanda Holden, Tess Daly and Kate Garraway are household names who have dominated British TV screens for years.

Recently, the daughters of some well-known personalities have been making a name for themselves and stepping into the spotlight. People are starting to wonder if they could be the next big stars.

One of these rising stars is Lexi Hughes, who is just 18 years old. Lexi, the daughter of Amanda and Chris, has already begun her journey in the fashion world and is often seen accompanying her mother on red carpets.

The teenager took to the catwalk as she ventured into modelling back in September, commanding attention in a cream strapless number.

Another young talent on the rise is Phoebe, the daughter of Tess, who has been seen at various glamorous events alongside her famous parents. Similarly, Darcey, the daughter of Kate Garraway and the late Derek Draper, joined her mother on stage at the NTAs during the same period.

Lexi Hughes, 18 (Amanda Holden’s daughter) 

Lexi, 18, who is the Britain’s Got Talent judge’s eldest child, rang in the New Year with her mother, father Chris and younger sister Hollie in Scotland.

She appeared to debut her new boyfriend as she posed for a very cosy snap with him on New Year’s Eve. 

But it’s not the only debut she has made recently, after Lexi made her first catwalk appearance at London Fashion Week in September.

The aspiring model looked effortlessly chic as she walked for Vietnamese designer Tran Hung in a floral mini dress.

She commanded attention in the cream strapless number, which featured 3D flowers, as her mother watched with pride on the front row.

Lexi paired the elegant ensemble with nude pointy ballet shoes that boasted gold detailing.

Lexi was also pictured joining Amanda at Wimbledon in July of last year

She accessorised with large floral hair clips and a miniature handbag, wearing her brunette locks in a naturally straight style. 

Speaking after the show, the aspiring model gushed: ‘I was so nervous but I really enjoyed the experience. The other models were really nice to me backstage, and it was so much fun. 

‘The show was so beautiful and the brand and designers are visionaries – passionate about sustainability with 90% of the raw materials they use being environmentally friendly. 

‘I’m really proud that they trusted me with their design to support LFW. Everyone looked after me and it’s surreal that tomorrow I start uni!’

Meanwhile, Amanda added: ‘We couldn’t have been more proud of our daughter this evening walking in her first LFW show. 

‘This year has been a significant one for her, she has worked really hard with her A levels and she got herself into a top University. Chris and I love her to bits and her little sister Hollie looks up to her so much. It’s a wonderful moment for her.’

Phoebe Kay, 20 (Tess Daly’s daughter)

The daughter of presenters Tess Daly and Vernon Kay, Phoebe has been making a name for herself in the industry. 

Phoebe looked the spitting image of her famous mother as she appeared alongside her father in an EE Christmas commercial in December. 

In the fun ad the Radio 2 DJ, 50, was put in charge of holiday preparations but was forced to enlist to tiny pet pooch Mickey to find the Christmas decorations. 

And Phoebe also mucked in when when her hapless father seemingly forgot to order a turkey for the festivities. 

Since turning 18, Phoebe has started creeping into the public eye, making her red carpet debut alongside her father at the John Wick Chapter 4 premiere last March.

While TV presenter Vernon was on hand to support his daughter, he previously revealed that he and Tess insist his children don’t live off their fame and must form ‘their own careers.’

It’s an important factor for the celebrity duo, who both fell into fame after being scouted as models and then turning to television.

Speaking to MailOnline in 2022, Vernon said he and his wife believe it’s important for their offspring ‘to find themselves’ and not be given their ‘life on a plate’, crediting the pair’s Northern backgrounds for shaping their parenting beliefs.

Vernon said: ‘We let them be independent when it comes to them and their futures because it’s important that you allow them to find themselves, which is character building and personality development. 

Tess is of the same thinking as her husband, telling MailOnline in 2021 how she kept her children ‘grounded’ against the trappings of fame and raises them with ‘morals, respect and a work ethic.’

The Strictly host revealed that Phoebe didn’t realise her mum worked on TV until she was seven years old as she and Vernon worked to keep their family shielded from the limelight.

Darcey Draper, 18 (Kate Garraway’s daughter)

Kate Garraway is one of Britain’s most beloved daytime TV anchors, and in recent her months her daughter has been making public appearances. 

Darcey Draper, the daughter of Kate and her late husband Derek, stepped into the spotlight on stage at the National Television Awards in September.

She wore a dark grey polka dot dress with a leg split for the occasion, as she joined her mum on the red carpet ahead of the event. 

Darcey then made her way on stage with her mum as Kate accepted an award for Authored Documentary for Kate Garraway: Derek’s Story about the final year of her late husband Derek’s life. 

And in summer, Darcey enjoyed a VIP day out with Kate as they attended the Wimbledon tennis championships together.

Sharing a video of the teenager’s departure with Instagram followers, Kate revealed the unframed photo and the hat previously worn by Darcey at Wimbledon on the backseat of her car as it sat on the kerb outside their north London home. 

Captioning the clip, she wrote: ‘And just like that she was off! That tiny helpless baby we brought home from hospital 18 yrs ago has gone to #uni!

‘Just like thousands of other parents this weekend I was playing that game of jenga trying to get it all in the car. Thank goodness my beloved Victor has a massive boot! 

She added: ‘Such an emotional moment on so many levels & boy is the house quiet. But Darcey we couldn’t be prouder of you starting this new chapter in your life & know your Dad is with you all the way.’ 

Commenting on the post, Good Morning Britain co-host Charlotte Hawkins wrote: ‘Best of luck Darcey – have an amazing time!’ 

TV presenter Carol Vorderman added: ‘Wishing your girl all the happiness in the world on her new adventure.’
