A video posted to X Monday featured a spokesperson for Karmelo Anthony’s family accusing Jeff Metcalf, the father of the late Texas track star Austin Metcalf, of disrespect.
The post marked the second time the spokesperson publicly criticized Metcalf, prompting a response from him.
Dominique Alexander, the leader of the Next Generation Action Network, held a news conference on April 17 on behalf of Anthony’s family. The conference addressed the allegations against Anthony for the killing of Austin Metcalf at a high school track meet the previous month.
Police escorted Jeff Metcalf out of the conference.
Alexander called Metcalf “disrespectful” and said his presence “disrespected the dignity of his son.”
In the video released on Monday, Alexander reiterated the accusations against Metcalf and stated that his organization did not contact the police regarding Metcalf. Alexander mentioned that the Dallas police were already present at the scene upon Metcalf’s arrival.
“This press conference wasn’t organized by him,” Alexander said. “This press conference wasn’t about him. This press conference didn’t invite him. Yet at the end of the day, it’s a criminal case y’all.”
“One of our security people asked [Metcalf] to move back. He looked at him like he was entitled, or like he didn’t have to move, whatever it may be. I said, ‘Who? What?’” said Alexander. “[The media member] was like, ’Yeah, that’s Austin’s dad.’ I said, ‘I know you’re lying.’ Like, ‘What? He can’t be here.’”
“And so what we initiated was making sure we secured the facility. How do we know what he came here for?”
Over a week and a half ago, the Next Generation Action Network held a private press conference at our headquarters to support the Anthony family.
Since then, misinformation has circulated online, and I want to set the record straight.

Metcalf told FOX News Digital that Alexander wasn’t being truthful.
“I don’t allow [Alexander] to live rent free in my mind,” he said. “It really doesn’t matter about the lies this man spreads. He just wants more attention. Don’t give it to him. Justicer [sic] will prevail.”

Alexander held the April 17 news conference to let Karmelo Anthony’s family speak publicly for the first time since Anthony allegedly killed Austin Metcalf, but Alexander reportedly spent much of the event criticizing Jeff Metcalf.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Austin, a junior at Memorial High School in Frisco, was fatally stabbed during a UIL District 11-5A track meet at Kuykendall Stadium on April 2. Police said that Anthony, a student from Centennial High School in Frisco, stabbed Metcalf in the chest during a confrontation after Anthony was seated under a tent designated for Memorial High School students.
Following the incident, the families of both Metcalf and Anthony have reportedly been under attack.
Austin’s father previously told Fox News Digital that “this person made a bad choice and affected both his family and my family forever.”
“People ask me, how can you forgive this other person? I said I forgive the other person because the forgiveness is not for him. The forgiveness is for me so I can have peace. His life is destroyed. My life is destroyed.”
Meanwhile, Anthony, charged with murder, remains on house arrest and has been ordered to have no contact with the Metcalf family.
