Palestinians expressed their discontent towards Hamas during an anti-war protest in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza Strip. The rare public display of anger targeted the militant group that governs the region. The demonstration, which took place on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, saw participants chanting slogans against Hamas in a significant act of dissent. The event underscored growing tensions and dissatisfaction within the Palestinian community towards the ruling faction.

In a poignant moment at the protest, banners in Arabic conveyed powerful messages calling for an end to destruction and bloodshed, emphasizing the desire for peaceful coexistence. The fervent plea for an end to violence resonated with many attendees, reflecting a shared aspiration for a better and more stable future. The visual imagery of the banners added a symbolic layer to the protest, amplifying the voices of those demanding an end to the cycle of conflict.

Israeli strikes overnight and into Thursday killed a family of six and a Hamas spokesman in the Gaza Strip.

Amidst the protests, the aftermath of Israeli military strikes was palpable as injured Palestinians were rushed to hospitals for treatment. The toll of the violence was evident as medical teams attended to those wounded in the attacks on Zawaida and Nuseirat camp. The harrowing scenes of casualties being transported for medical care served as a stark reminder of the human cost of the ongoing hostilities, further fueling calls for peace and an end to the cycle of violence.

Another strike near Gaza City killed four children and their parents, according to the emergency service of Gaza’s Health Ministry.

Israel ended its ceasefire with Hamas last week, launching a surprise wave of strikes that killed hundreds of Palestinians. It has vowed to escalate the offensive if Hamas does not release hostages, disarm and leave the territory.

Hamas has said it will only release the remaining 59 hostages — 24 of whom are believed to be alive — in exchange for a lasting ceasefire and an Israeli withdrawal.
