When Does ‘The Last of Us’ Return With New Episodes? ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2 HBO Premiere Date

We currently have standing reservations every Sunday night at The White Lotus, but all vacations must come to an end. After we bid farewell to the new season of Mike White’s beloved dramedy, we’re going to welcome back an old friend: The Last of Us.

Based on the popular video game franchise, the second season of HBO’s captivating post-apocalyptic drama is about to return after a two-year absence. Season 2 picks up five years after the events of the first season finale, with the official logline teasing that Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) are “drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.”

There are a number of fresh faces in the second season… including… yes… Kaitlyn Dever as Abby.

If you find yourself in the midst of a rewatch, make sure to press play on HBO’s The Last of Us podcast hosted by Troy Baker (Joel from the video game) and featuring showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. It’s essential listing for any and all fans of the franchise.

When exactly does The Last of Us Season 2 premiere on HBO and Max? Here’s everything you need to know.
