A young mother from Louisiana, aged 21, has been arrested for physically abusing her 4-year-old child by using a plastic utensil and making the child wear a plastic trash bag.
Responding to a 911 call reporting the abuse, the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office discovered the child with injuries on the back and leg. The injuries were believed to have been inflicted by multiple strikes from an object, as reported by KPLC.
Following an investigation, deputies concluded that the child had been harmed by Haily Bellard, who allegedly used a plastic utensil to discipline the child and made them wear the trash bag as a form of punishment.
Investigators did not say what prompted the punishment.
The child was taken to a hospital for treatment and later released, but police did not say who the child was released to.
Bellard was charged with cruelty to juveniles, aggravated battery, and domestic abuse battery.
Bond has not been set.
