A mother from Texas faces four charges of injury to a child for using a dog leash to beat her children because none of them would confess to leaving a tissue on the floor.
Ebony Gonzalez, who is in her early 30s (though different ages were reported by local media outlets), is accused of also threatening to burn her children’s hair by turning on the stove, as reported by KPRC.
The children involved are aged 11, 11, 8, and 6. According to the station, one of the children discreetly passed a note to a friend requesting that the police be contacted, detailing the abuse they were enduring.
Officers who responded to the Katy home said that two of the children hadred welts and bruising on their upper backs. A third child said her mother pulled her hair and kicked her, and the fourth child declined to talk but mentioned having visible marks, the judge said reading the charges against Gonzalez.
Child Protective Services said the children are with Gonzalez’s mother.
According to KRIV, Gonzalez was given a $10,000 bond for each charged and is barred from unsupervised contact with her children.
