South Carolina Mother Charged With Stabbing Newborn to Death With Letter Opener

A South Carolina woman was charged with murder this week after she allegedly stabbed her newborn son with a letter opener.

Easly Police Chief Brandon Liner stated that An T Ngo gave birth to the baby, cut the umbilical cord, repeatedly stabbed the child with a letter opener, and then placed the body in a trash bag in another room, according to WYFF’s report.

During a news conference, Liner mentioned, “Ms. Ngo did deliver the baby in the apartment. It is clear that Ms. Ngo is the individual responsible for the tragic murder of this child.”

Expressing his shock, the chief admitted, “I will be frank with you. I have been in this field for two and a half decades, and I have never witnessed anything as horrifying. I have never encountered anything this severe.”

Ngo was arraigned on a charge of homicide by child abuse and ordered held without bond.
