Mom Killed by Knives, Umbrella While Defending Daughter from 20 Attackers

A New York woman was reportedly killed on Wednesday during an altercation involving her 12-year-old daughter and about 20 women.

Jennira Roundtree, aged 43, was attacked with two stab wounds to her chest and one slash to her stomach outside her residence in Staten Island, as reported by the police. The authorities recovered the knife used in the assault at the scene, according to the New York Daily News.

According to sources cited by the New York Post, the conflict that led to the fatal incident was primarily fueled by social media interactions. The group of around 20 attackers involved in the assault was reported to be composed of individuals ranging in age from young teens to their mid-20s.

An account provided by a neighbor to the New York Daily News detailed that the altercation began when a group of girls instigated a confrontation with Roundtree’s 12-year-old daughter. The daughter then sought assistance from an older sibling, with Roundtree stepping in to intervene before the sibling arrived at the scene.

“And by the time the rest of them came she had collapsed on the floor,” a friend told WABC.

Sources told the New York Post that Roundtree was found bloody on top of a broken umbrella, which was apparently used during the fatal fight.

No arrests have been made.
