Chippewa Falls police in Wisconsin released more details this week about the discovery of Shannah Boiteau’s body.
Boiteau’s body was discovered by the police on April 27 in St. Cloud, with her identity being confirmed by officials on Monday. The investigation into her death is now being led by the St. Cloud police department.
Leaving her residence in Chippewa Falls on June 21, 2016, Boiteau was last seen by someone the following day fleeing from her vehicle in the vicinity of County Road 74 in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
According to Tri-County CrimeStoppers of the St. Cloud area, Boiteau was observed getting out of a vehicle near I94 & Co Rd 74 in Saint Cloud, MN, then entering the woods and never making contact again.
St. Cloud police filed a search-warrant affidavit a day before finding her remains after someone notified them that a man that said they were located a “moist spot in the lower ground,” along with a human skull and teeth, on property south of I-94 and “east of County Road 74,” The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
The filing also noted that the remains had been “outside in the elements for a number of years.”
Officials have not released information about where or how Boiteau’s body was found.
