A one-time New York model shot her husband to death on a Florida balcony on Wednesday and then turned the gun on herself.
The Hallandale Beach Police Department received reports of gunfire at a highrise apartment complex after a ShotSpotter detected five quick shots followed by a brief pause and then a sixth shot, as reported by WPLG.
They arrived to find Sabrina Krasniqi, 27, and Pajtim Krasniqi, 34, dead on the balcony.
An Albanian-American couple, who previously resided in New York, came under the spotlight. Sabrina Krasniqi, known professionally as Sabrina Dzaferovic, had a career as a model. She was featured in an Inside Edition segment in 2021 discussing experiences of catcalling and had a profile on Backstage with headshots and other portfolio photographs.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear. Neighbors expressed shock, stating they did not notice any signs of trouble. However, Pajtim Krasniqi’s sister made a scathing post on Facebook, accusing the wife of betraying him, his love, and his trust.
“She shattered my family. My siblings and I will never be the same,” wrote Albana Krasniqi Munrett. “I’m terrified my mother will not ever recover.”
In a statement provided to WPLG, the family said that Pajtim Krasniqi survived a motorcycle accident in 2018 and refused doctors recommendations that he have his leg amputated and also refused to take pain medications despite multiple surgeries over the years.
