A CONFUSED tourist turned up to his city break hotel to bizarrely find a plane cockpit in his room.
Ryan Guy, who is 25 years old, had anticipated basic amenities at his hotel but was pleasantly surprised to find himself feeling like a “giant kid” when he boarded a jet that featured passenger seats and a cockpit overlooking Amsterdam.
The stay was gifted by a client of his and, while it appeared normal on the outside, the room number 737 hinted at what would be inside.
Ryan went viral after showing off his luxurious yet random room he was staying in.
The video, which has amassed a staggering 24.5 million views and over three million likes, captures Ryan’s astonishment at discovering a plane occupying his accommodation.
The incredible footage showcases a line of seats inside the City of Amsterdam jet, all perfectly preserved, functioning lights, and a complete cockpit with dual steering wheels.
All the buttons and the two screens make it truly believable that you’re driving a plane too, as the view looks out onto Amsterdam.
Personal trainer Ryan from Northern Ireland said: “It was so funny waking up, looking over and saying: ‘There’s a plane in my hotel room‘.
“I didn’t expect there to be a plane – in fact, I had no idea what I was in for, as I wasn’t told anything before I arrived – so it was crazy to see [it].
“I was completely blown away – my reaction was genuine, I was like what the f***.”
He explained that it took him a while “to get used to it” – but soon warmed to the gargantuan aircraft.
Ryan added: “I felt like a giant kid with a big toy.
“Searching around it was class, as it’s not every day you get to sit on a flight deck and fiddle with all the buttons with no repercussions.”
In the video, Ryan begins by doing a standard hotel room tour.
He shows the wardrobe, seats and bed – before panning over and saying: “Oh look, there’s just a plane.”
Ryan ends the unbelievable video by joking: “It’s just [a] standard hotel room”.
Users flocked to the comments to share their reactions.
One said: “This takes roleplay to a whole new level.”
Another joked: “Would that count as the high mile club?”
And “This is my worst nightmare, it gives me the creeps.”
The hotel with the plane, Corendon New West in Amsterdam, is part of the Marriott group.
It appears to be the only ‘unique’ room available and starts at £250 for two people for a night.
Ryan said that while the room itself was impressive – the plane stole the show.
He added: “I would 100% stay here again.
“The room overall was amazing – it was like a penthouse and was numbered 737, like the Boeing aircraft, so that was cool.
“It all felt really authentic – if anyone loves aviation, they’d be in heaven.“
