A body found at a Minnesota landfill on Saturday is a 16-year-old boy who vanished in May.
A news report by KIMT stated that Jordan Collins Jr. was discovered deceased at the Elk River Landfill. The authorities had been scouring the area since early June, but the cause of his death was not revealed.
It was mentioned that Collins’ body was found within a specific area in the landfill, measuring 200 by 200 feet and four feet deep. Anoka County Sheriff Brad Wise shared that footage from May 13, which was five days after Collins was reported missing, indicated that his body had been placed in a dumpster in Columbia Heights before ending up in a garbage truck, as reported by Bring Me the News.
Collins was last seen at an apartment in Columbia Heights where he had been staying with his father since mid-April.
Initial reports from the authorities suggested that Collins may have been held against his will. Sheriff Wise confirmed that a person of interest was being investigated, although their identity has not been disclosed. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with this case.
When asked whether Collins’ death is being investigated as a murder, Wise quipped, “Well, a dead body wound up in a landfill, so I guess draw your own conclusions.”
