An Oregon man was charged wtih murder this week after his partner was found dead in a ditch in Sherwood.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies discovered Mary McDowell, a 64-year-old woman, outside her residence a little past 4:30 a.m. on December 13th. They promptly apprehended Jose Lucase Morfin Jr., aged 38, at that moment.
A week later, a grand jury formally accused Morfin of multiple offenses including manslaughter, assault, abuse of a corpse, illegal weapon usage, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
In a released statement, McDowell’s family expressed deep sorrow over the circumstances of her passing and urged individuals in possession of any relevant details to reach out to the authorities.
