A couple who have a mutual love for body modifications have shared their latest addition that celebrates their connection – quite literally.
Sadie Riendeau and her fiancée Hannah Hansman have a number of piercings, tattoos, and body alterations.
In a recent development, a couple in their mid-twenties made a unique decision to have magnets implanted under their skin. These magnets have the fascinating ability to link together every time the couple hugs or holds hands.
Their romantic body accessory has gone viral online with over 2.4 million views.
“Hannah was a bit apprehensive at first, but once I mentioned how these magnets could connect us in a special way, she was on board,” revealed Sadie, a content creator hailing from Massachusetts, in an interview with What’s The Jam. “That assurance got her excited about the idea, and we decided to go ahead with it together.”
“The procedure was quick and involved a needle creating a pocket, and then the magnet slid into the hole created.
“There weren’t any stitches involved.”
The procedure was also fairly cheap; the duo paid just $1,000 to install both magnets.
“I use the implant almost daily to link to Hannah,” she said.
“The magnets aren’t painful to use or to the touch – if anything, you could forget it’s there.
“It’s also now like a fun party trick.”
In the clip shared on Instagram, the body modification artist who performed the installation holds up a bit of skin on one of the duo’s hands.
He then uses a needle to create the aforementioned pocket in the skin and blots away a small bit of blood with a cotton ball.
The couple then show their hands connecting via the magnet.
Since posting it on TikTok, the video has gathered over 60,000 likes, as well as hundreds of comments from followers.
