The newest captivating series on Paramount+ is called MobLand, and it boasts a stellar lineup of actors from both the big and small screens. The show features renowned names like Tom Hardy portraying the criminal “fixer” Harry Da Souza, Pierce Brosnan as his boss, the powerful crime lord Conrad Harrigan, and Dame Helen Mirren as the fearsome matriarch Maeve Harrigan. The cast of MobLand also includes familiar faces from popular shows such as House of the Dragon, Downton Abbey, and Sherlock, making it highly likely that viewers will recognize these characters from their favorite binge-watching sessions.
Originally intended as a spin-off of Ray Donovan, MobLand took on a life of its own under the creative vision of Ronan Bennett. The show is now a standalone original narrative set in present-day London. The first two episodes of MobLand are penned by Bennett and Jez Butterworth, with direction from the renowned filmmaker specializing in gangster themes, Guy Ritchie. The series delves into the aftermath of a chaotic night out by the Harrigan crime family’s troubled young member, Eddie Harrigan (played by Anson Boon), whose actions lead to a situation that Harry must resolve. Eddie’s actions may have unwittingly triggered a potentially disastrous conflict.

Where You’ve Seen Helen Mirren: Dame Helen Mirren has been working on stage and on screen for over six decades. You might know her for her work on groundbreaking crime drama Prime Suspect, winning an Oscar starring in The Queen, or for sexing it up in everything from Caligula to Excalibur. Photo: Paramount+ Who is Conrad Harrigan in MobLand?: Conrad Harrigan is the ruthless leader of the Harrigan gang, having built the family empire out of nothing. Now, he likes to enjoy the trappings of English country life on an estate called “The Cotswolds.” Nevertheless, he still has great ambitions for the future of his family.
Where You’ve Seen Pierce Brosnan: Pierce Brosnan is perhaps most famous for playing James Bond in the ’90s, in films like GoldenEye and Tomorrow Never Dies. He’s also starred in the steamy remake of The Thomas Crown Affair, Mamma Mia! and Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga. You can also catch him right now in the slick Soderbergh spy thriller, Black Bag.
