A Pennsylvania therapist has been accused of indecently assaulting three children, one of them during a session at his office.
According to Cumberland Township Police, 55-year-old David Mitchell has been charged with assaulting two girls during a play date at his Gettysburg home, as reported by WHTM.
He is accused of inappropriately touching all three girls.
He faces three charges of indecently assaulting a person under 13, three charges of indecently assaulting a person without consent, and three charges of corruption of minors.
An affidavit filed recently stated that the charges stem from a January referral by Adams County Children and Youth Services. It was reported by the Hanover Evening Sun that a 7-year-old and a 5-year-old girl alleged they were assaulted at Mitchell’s house during a play date. Allegedly, Mitchell inappropriately touched the 7-year-old while helping her onto a zipline on their property.
The document says Mitchell put his hands undernear the victim’s shirt and his other hand down her pants on top of her underwear.
The 5-year-old reported a similar incident while on a play date in September 2024. She said Mitchell “touched her in her crotch area” while she was playing.
The third incident was uncovered while investigators were investigating the initial allegations. In that case, a 9-year-old girl was at a therapy session at Mitchell’s office and was playing with clay when Mitchell “came up behind her” and “put his hands down her shirt, massaging her.”
The document says Mitchell massaged the girl’s “shoulder area and upper breast area.”
According to the Evening Sun, Mitchell originally came to Pennsylvania from Kentucky.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 23, WHTM said.
