Janelle Brown is using the pain from her son, Garrison Brown‘s death for a worthy cause.

The television personality from the show “Sister Wives” was clear-headed today as she remembered the sad one-year anniversary of her son’s passing on social media. Despite her grief, she used this moment to reach out and support others who may be dealing with similar situations.

The 55-year-old took to Instagram to pay a touching tribute to her son one year after he passed away. The reality star’s caption read:

In a heartfelt message, she shared, “Even in moments of busyness, you are always on my mind. It has been a year since you left us. We miss you greatly, and I miss you tremendously. I urge all of you to think about contributing to a local animal shelter, rescue, or humane society. This cause was dear to Garrison’s heart, as he lovingly adopted all three of his cats from shelters.”

The Reality Star Mourned The Loss Of Her Son With A Special Roadtrip In His Car

Since the sad occurrence, Janelle has found various ways to deal with her grief. Last month, The Blast reported that Janelle shared her heartfelt experience on social media, recounting her journey across the country in her late son’s cherished pickup truck.

This trip allowed her to honor his memory and left her feeling profoundly connected to her two boys, particularly Garrison. She expressed the truck’s significant sentimental value in her post, highlighting how it helped her maintain that bond.

In a touching video set to Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again,” Janelle showcased the dual cab pickup truck, complete with a matching shell on the back.

Janelle also highlighted the truck’s history that initially belonged to Garrison when he relocated to Flagstaff. Following February 2022, the vehicle was passed down to his younger brother, Gabriel Brown.

Now that Gabriel has opted for a smaller, more practical car to suit his life in Las Vegas, Janelle faces a decision regarding the truck. She noted that the vehicle is paid off and holds more value for her on their new farm than she could receive through a trade-in, especially after Garrison’s death.

Janelle Shared What It Felt Like Holidaying Without Her Late Son

The holiday season was equally underwhelming for the reality star, who navigated her first major celebration without her late son. At the beginning of December, she shared her feelings on Instagram, reflecting on the deep loss that pervaded the family gathering in North Carolina.

In a heartfelt tribute, she wrote, “First of the ‘big’ holidays without you, sweetheart. We all gathered in NC to celebrate together and kept your photo close by.”

Despite the pain of Garrison’s absence, Janelle expressed how the family found comfort in reminiscing about his vibrant personality. They sought solace in their familiar holiday traditions, enjoying meals, playing games, and cherishing each other’s company.

As the festivities ended and everyone prepared to return home, she conveyed a sense of closeness to Garrison, stating, “But I feel you close by.”

The ‘Sister Wives’ Star And Her Son Shared A Brief Conversation Before His Passing

Shortly after her son’s death, Janelle reported to authorities that her son had sent a troubling message to a group associated with their reality TV show, expressing feelings of resentment and nostalgia.

As shared by The Blast, his last text read, “I want to hate you for sharing the good times. But I can’t. I miss these days.”

Although Garrison did not include his mother in the conversation, she became aware of his concerning message and quickly reached out to him. They exchanged texts briefly before he stopped responding, which raised alarm for Janelle.

Concerned for her son, she urged her other children to check on him. Gabriel, her fifth child, went to perform a wellness check on Garrison in Flagstaff but tragically arrived too late.

Astonishingly, Garrison’s three roommates were unaware of his passing. In their interviews with authorities, some claimed they heard a popping sound the previous night but did not think it was a gunshot.

Janelle Brown’s Late Son Reportedly Battled With Alcohol Problems

Garrison’s tragic death came as a shock to those around him, mainly his roommates, who had remained unaware of his struggles. They only learned of his passing when his younger brother Gabriel discovered Garrison’s lifeless body, a handgun nearby, and promptly called 911.

While Garrison’s roommates mentioned that he had struggled with alcohol, Gabriel expressed his surprise, noting that his brother seemed to be doing well, having recently secured a job at a medical facility.

Additionally, Janelle, Garrison’s mother, revealed that he was estranged from his father, Kody, though it remains uncertain whether this strained relationship played a role in his decision to take his own life.

May Janelle Brown continue to find the strength to keep her son’s memory alive!
