A BODY has been found on a beach in Cornwall.
Devon and Cornwall Police has confirmed it is treating the incident as “unexplained”.
Officers were called at around 1.50pm on Saturday, January 18, to the discovery of a person’s body.
It was found on Downderry Beach, near Looe.
Police have confirmed the death is currently not thought to be suspicious but is unexplained.
Enquiries are being conducted to establish the circumstances and in the hopes of finding their next of kin.
According to a spokesperson, the police were alerted at approximately 1:50 pm on Saturday, January 18th after a body was found at Downderry Beach in Torpoint.
“The death is being treated as unexplained but not currently thought suspicious.
“Enquiries are being conducted to establish the circumstances surrounding the death, the identity of the person and to trace their next of kin.”
