Police guard in Yorkshire street as officers investigate woman’s ‘unexplained’ death

Police are investigating the “unexplained” death of a woman in West Yorkshire.

Officers from West Yorkshire Police (WYP) were called to Pinderfields Hospital, in Aberford Road, Wakefield, on Tuesday, June 27, following the death of a 51-year-old woman. At this time, her s being treated as unexplained, pending a post-mortem examination.

A scene is in place on Lilac Avenue, Knottingley, Wakefield, as part of police enquiries. Officers were spotted guarding a property in the area earlier today.

In a statement, police said: “We were informed of the death of a woman at Pinderfields Hospital yesterday morning. At this time, the death of the 51-year-old woman is being treated as unexplained, pending a post-mortem examination.

“A scene is in place on Lilac Avenue, Knottingley, as part of police enquiries.” Further details of the incident are not known at this time.
