The father of a 1-year-old California boy has been arrested after he was found with his beheaded son.
A report by Live 5 News shared that law enforcement officials responded to a disturbance early in the morning on Versailles Way in North Sacramento County. Upon reaching the location, they discovered a woman outside who informed them that her husband, Andrey Demskiy, aged 28, had physically attacked her and her mother.
Incident occurred just past 4 a.m. when Demskiy purportedly assaulted both his wife and mother-in-law, leading the women to escape the house while waiting for help from the authorities.
Demskiy declined to open the door. Upon discovering that he was indoors with his young child and had potentially harmed the infant by throwing him, the sheriff’s office stated that due to concerns for the child’s well-being, deputies forcibly entered the residence.
As the officers took Demskiy into custody, they noticed his son’s head in the room. He allegedly decapitated the child with a knife after the women fled the home, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
Demskiy was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. He is ineligible for bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, according to Live 5 News.
Demskiy’s mother-in-law was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
