A homicide investigation is underway in Texas after a missing woman’s body was discovered on Wednesday.
Mariadelis Labrador Siles, 28, went missing on Monday, and her boyfriend informed authorities that she may have gone to Wildhorse Sports Park in San Antonio. To search for her, Bexar County police and Alamo Area Search and Rescue deployed dogs, leading to the discovery of Labrador Siles’ body close to the park, as reported by KSAT.
Labrador Siles’ body was in a wooded area. Bexar County coroners said she died from a stab wound to the chest.

The police informed KSAT that a machete and shovel were discovered close to the area where the body was found, but they do not seem to be linked to the case. Although the police are treating the investigation as a potential homicide, Sheriff Javier Salazar mentioned that it is also plausible that Labrador Siles may have inflicted the injuries on herself.
“There are no signs indicating that the body was brought here. Our information suggests that the individual passed away at the scene,” Salazar stated according to the San Antonio report.
Additionally, Salazar said that Labrador Siles may have been experiencing a mental health crisis. According to the San Antonio Express-News, he noted that her boyfriend is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
Labrador Siles apparently left home on Monday without her phone or wallet. KENS reported that three wooden stakes were also near Labrador Siles’ body, but it is unclear whether it is related to her death.
