Malaspina is being treated at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital. A man who visited him there said that he is in a good mood and that he is recovering from his injuries.
Pinkney, a reputable member of the Bloods-affiliated Every Body Killas gang, or EBK, was arrested after a man approached police looking for the assailant and said he had just been threatened by a thug with a knife, they said. police sources.

NYPD sources identified the suspect as Vincent Pinkney, 25, of Washington Heights. They say he is a Queens-based gang member who was paroled after serving four years behind bars for gang assault. Sources say he has 16 previous arrests.
The alleged Pinkney rampage occurred near the same park where 18-year-old Barnard College freshman Tessa Majors was murdered two years ago. Another gang member, who was 14 years old at the time, was arrested and sentenced to nine years to life in prison for his murder.
