MSNBC star Rachel Maddow blasted her own bosses live on air in a monologue where she slammed the decision to cancel Joy Reid’s show.
Reid’s opinion program The ReidOut has been canned after six seasons and she’s leaving the network.

She is a high-profile casualty of the shakeup that’s currently taking place at MSNBC.
Reid’s 7pm eastern timeslot will be filled by rotating hosts.
Left-wing firebrand Reid’s final episode aired on Monday, but the decision to axe her has not been received positively at MSNBC.
Maddow, 51, slammed MSNBC bosses in a monologue on Monday.
She told viewers that Reid’s decision to leave the network was one that’s “hard to take.”
Throughout my various work experiences and all the years I’ve lived, there’s no coworker I hold in higher regard and affection than Joy Reid.
“I love everything about her. I have learned so much from her.
“I don’t want to lose her as a colleague here at MSNBC and personally I think it is a bad mistake to let her walk out the door.
“It’s not my call and I understand that, but that’s what I think.”
News surrounding Reid’s departure emerged over the weekend.
And the speculation forced Rebecca Kutler, the network’s president, to hastily arrange a meeting with colleagues.
Reid addressed the speculation on Sunday, thanking people for reaching out.
Maddow didn’t stop there and continue to scold MSNBC chiefs.
She branded it “unnerving” that the network’s two non-white hosts are losing their programs.
MSNBC hosts

Meet the hosts who appear on MSNBC:
“And that feels worse than bad no matter who replaces them, that feels indefensible and I do not defend it,” Maddow said.
Rachel Maddow typically only features on Monday nights. However, Alex Wagner, who hosts the 9pm eastern slot from Tuesday to Friday, will be substituted by former White House press secretary Jen Psaki.
Psaki joined MSNBC in 2022 after leaving Joe Biden’s administration.
But, Maddow has appeared on TV screens every night during the first month of Donald Trump’s administration.
She plans to continue this routine until his 100 days mark.
Wagner is not leaving the network entirely as she is a senior political analyst.
PRESENTER SHAKEUP
MSNBC has reportedly lined up three faces that will appear in Reid’s timeslot, per The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The lineup of names also comprises Symone Sanders-Townsend, a former advisor to Kamala Harris, Michael Steele, the previous chairman of the Republican National Committee, and Alicia Menendez, the daughter of former congressman Bob Menendez.
MSNBC chiefs have also culled Katie Phang’s show, but she is not leaving entirely.
She is a legal correspondent for the network.
The progressive network will subsequently undergo a schedule shakeup.
Ana Cabrera and Katy Tur’s shows will now be two hours long and Ali Velshi’s program will air for three hours.
MSNBC has refused to comment on Maddow’s tirade.
MSNBC is not the only network undergoing a presenting and scheduling shakeup.
Trump critic Jim Acosta has left CNN after he lost his slot on the schedule.
Acosta was bumped off the schedule after losing his 10am slot, which has been filled by Wolf Blitzer.
CNN chiefs have refreshed six shows on their daily schedule.
Prominent journalist Jake Tapper has a two-hour slot as his show airs between 5pm and 7pm.
