The search continues for a 1-year-old Alabama boy who was reported missing after his sister and father died earlier this month.
Neighbors mentioned that authorities searched Kahleb Collins’ house before the holidays. Collins went missing on December 9, a day after a tragic car accident in Fayette County that claimed the lives of his father and sister, leaving his mother hospitalized with severe injuries.
The neighbors disclosed that they seldom saw Collins, as his father noted he had medical conditions. They were informed that the child had gone to stay with relatives, although it remains unclear who delivered this information to them.

An investigation revealed that Collins was not in the car crash on December 8 but had disappeared on September 4. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the toddler’s parents were not properly restrained, and their daughter was not in a car seat during the accident. The father was speeding at 92 mph when the vehicle lost control, veered off the road, and hit a tree, causing him to be thrown from the car.
Days after the deadly wreck, Collins’ grandfather, John Bailey, 50, was arrested for failing to report Kahleb Collins’ disappearance. According to WTTO, authorities believe Collins was somehow injured and moved from his family home.
Collins’ whereabouts remain a mystery, including whether his case is being treated as a homicide. Meanwhile, Bailey remains jailed on $100,000 bail.
