Georgia police are looking for a 7-year-old boy believed taken by his biological mother during a visit in Snellville.
Gwinnett County Police reported that Michelle Marks traveled from Oklahoma to Georgia to visit her son, Royal Marks, who was under the care of his father. According to family members, during a conversation regarding an upcoming custody hearing, she expressed intentions of self-harm if she did not retain custody.
The mother reportedly took the boy late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.
In response to the situation, Gwinnett County Police have issued kidnapping warrants for Michelle Marks, who is also wanted on other charges in Oklahoma. She is known to go by various aliases such as Michelle Jones, Michelle Legacy, and Michelle Young.
She is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall and about 140 pounds.
Royal, the child in question, is described as 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 90 pounds. He was last seen dressed in a red long-sleeved thermal shirt with white lettering and joggers.
Police said Michelle Marks does not own a vehicle and may be using ride-share services to leave the state.
They said Marks lost custody of the boy last year in Oklahoma because of neglect.
