‘XO Kitty’ Season 2 Ending Explained: Who Does Kitty End Up With?

Another eventful semester at KISS has come to a close with the conclusion of XO, Kitty. This season, viewers witnessed a rollercoaster of highs and lows for Kitty and her friends. The show, featuring a talented cast including Anna Cathcart, Sang Heon Lee, Gia Kim, Choi Min-young, Anthony Keyvan, Regan Aliyah, and Audrey Huynh, reached new levels of drama and romance on Netflix.

Kitty’s journey in this season involved exploring her queerness for the first time and shifting her attention from Yuri and Min Ho to reconnect with her Korean family. Despite this shift, Kitty found herself entangled in more drama, sharing a romantic moment with Yuri and clashing with her new roommate Stella, who had ulterior motives against Min Ho (the same Min Ho who had declared his love for Kitty in the Season 1 finale).

As Season 2 wraps up, fans are left wondering about the future of their favorite characters. The season finale sets the stage for Season 3, hinting at a potential lawsuit against the Han Group and hinting at a budding romance between Min Ho and Kitty.

But, does this mean Yuri and Kitty are over once and for all? Here’s everything you need to know about the end of XO, Kitty Season 2.

Season 2, Episode 8 of XO, Kitty begins on an optimistic note when Margot calls Kitty to give her the happy news: Their grandmother is finally ready to meet her estranged sister! Margot, Kitty, and their cousin Jiwon make plans for Margot and their grandma to travel to Korea. But when Kitty goes to share the good news with Q and Dae, the trio quickly realize something’s up when Min Ho grabs an energy drink from the fridge instead of his typical collagen water (the horror!). Though she would prefer to stay out of Min Ho’s relationship, Kitty knows she has to get to the bottom of it.

Moon’s Young Talent Showcase finally arrives, but with one shocking surprise: Stella is also competing now. Kitty realizes that Stella must be extorting Min Ho for the opportunity to perform, so she corners him and makes him confess to his father, after which the Moon family shares a touching reunion. But backstage, Stella is secretly sabotaging the other contestants, including Dae.

Luckily, Dae finally gets his moment to shine with an impressive cover of Jungkook’s “Seven,” featuring Kitty and the crew as his backup dancers after the original dancers were poisoned by Stella. Stella’s performance ultimately gets canceled and her plan is thwarted when Min Ho’s pop star brother, Joon Ho, announces his backup dancer’s pregnancy and proposes to her on stage. But Dae’s stellar performance isn’t enough to win the showcase. It’s his girlfriend Eunice who wins the chance to join Joon Ho on his world tour.

Dae is crestfallen to learn he won’t be able to use the prize money to help his father out, until his father comes to him with what should be good news. His father plans to file a class action lawsuit against his employer, the Han Group, which is owned by Yuri Han’s family. Dae is disappointed and shocked by the news, but no one is more shocked than Yuri, who realizes her family’s assets have been frozen because of the lawsuit.

Kim told Decider that she hopes the lawsuit “doesn’t affect Yuri and Dae’s friendship” in Season 3.

“I’m sure it won’t, but also just separately and individually, I feel it will definitely portray newer challenges for Yuri in terms of what it means to not have all the money that she always was comfortable with as a privileged teenager,” she said. “It’ll just mean more growing journey for her growing pains in different aspects of her life. So I’m really excited to see if that pans out in Season 3.”

But everything is going great for Kitty. Margot and their grandmother arrive in Korea (thanks to Min Ho’s private jet) for an emotional family reunion. Margot even tells Kitty that she is just like their mother. “You bring people together. She would be so proud of you,” she says during the heartwarming moment.

Yuri is left heartbroken after learning Juliana has moved on with Praveena. She also iced Kitty out for part of the season to focus on mending things with Juliana, which put a huge damper on any romantic possibilities between them.

But Kitty puts herself out there one last time when she finds Min Ho in the sculpture garden before he leaves for the world tour with his family. Min Ho confesses that he’s taking a break from dating, which leaves Kitty wondering if she may have missed her chance. But Kitty surprises everyone by boldly asking if she could join him on the tour.

Cathcart tells Decider that she was “very shocked” to see what the finale had in store for Kitty. “I think for Kitty, she’s gotten to really explore the Yuri storyline, and kind of got that out of her system, so to speak. She really got to give everything a chance and make sure she listened to her heart, and now this is where her heart has led her,” she said. “I think Kitty just can’t even help it. She will follow her heart all the time. And that’s like one of the things I love about her the most. And she definitely does do that this season.”

As for Min Ho, Lee sees him as being “more grounded again” by the end of Season 2. “I don’t think he closed his mind for Kitty. He only just tried to tell himself and let her know that despite anyone liking me or me liking that other person, I’m going to try to find myself as well,” he told Decider.

He added, “I’m surprised that Kitty really offered or asked permission to come along, because in that case, it shows also quite a bit of a courage for her side, … she literally went for it. She rolled the dice to see how the game plays. So again, great for her and growth on Min Ho’s side. And I’m really excited to see how it progresses in Season 3.”
