Shamsud Din Jabbar called himself ‘fierce’ & touted military background in video before killing 10 in Nola terror attack

THE suspect in the New Orleans terror attack spoke openly about his military background and even referred to himself as “fierce” in a YouTube video posted years prior.

Jabbar has been named the suspect in a horrific terror attack that left 10 people dead and dozens injured in the first early hours of 2025.

The horror unfolded shortly after 3 am local time when Jabbar deliberately drove a white pickup truck at high speed into a crowded Bourbon Street in New Orleans’ French Quarter.

Jabbar, 42, isn’t believed to have acted alone in the attack and the FBI is working to identify other suspects.

As the investigation continues, cops are looking into Jabbar’s background, which included time as a real estate agent.

Documents viewed by The U.S. Sun confirmed Jabbar held a real estate license from 2019 until it expired in February 2021.

In a YouTube video uploaded on May 12, 2020, Jabbar introduced himself as a Team Lead for the Midas Group and Property Manager at Blue Meadow Properties.

“I just wanna say hello and let you know a little bit about me,” Jabbar said in the first seconds of the video.

He shared that he was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas, but was living in Houston at the time of the video.

Jabbar said he was a lifelong Texan, aside from a stint in the military.

During that 10-year period, Jabbar said he served as a human resources specialist and IT specialist.

“I learned the meaning of great service, and what it means to be responsive and take everything seriously, dotting I’s and crossing T’s to make sure that things go off without a hitch,” Jabbar said of his time in the military.

Jabbar said he took the skills acquired from the military and put them to use as a real estate agent, referring to himself as a “fierce negotiator.”

“Not only do I brilliantly market your property to make sure it gets sold as quickly as possible … but I’m also going to take every ounce of energy and [put] it into negotiating for you,” he said.

Jabbar went on to urge potential home buyers to reach out to him with any questions.

“I’m glad to help anytime,” he said.

The U.S. Sun had reached out to the US military for comment.

SICK ATTACK

Jabbar was formally named as the suspect in the attack during a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.

After plowing the pickup truck into throngs of New Year’s Eve partygoers, Jabbar was killed in a firefight with police.

Ten victims died and another 30 were wounded, including two cops who are expected to recover.

The first victim has been identified as 18-year-old Nikyra Cheyenne Dedeaux from Gulfport, Mississippi, who was celebrating the holiday with her cousin and a friend.

Multiple improvised explosive devices have been recovered as cops continue to process the crime scene and sweep the city.

The attack unfolded just hours before New Orleans was to host the College Football Playoff Sugar Bowl between Georgia and Notre Dame.

That has been postponed until at least Thursday.

New Orleans is also slated to host its annual Mardi Gras festivities starting in just days, followed by the Super Bowl in a matter of weeks.
