Three children in Georgia are facing criminal charges for allegedly scalding a boy with hot water during a sleepover.
A 12-year-old boy from Tifton suffered second-degree burns on most of his face while at a sleepover at a neighbor’s house, as reported by his mother to WALB.
During the incident, the victim was sleeping when hot water was poured on him by one of the children present. The attackers, as per WALB, were three individuals aged between 12 and 15.
The boy was taken to the burn center in Augusta and had to undergo surgery. His mother mentioned to the news outlet that he is now recovering at home but will need 12-14 days to heal.
The victim’s family said the three other children were charged and released to their families. A hearing is scheduled to take place a month from now.
It is unclear what the three children are charged with.
