NEW YORK – Kerry Kennedy is currently in the process of writing a book centered on her late mother, Ethel Kennedy. The book titled “Ethel: Faith, Hope, Family, and an Extraordinary American Life” is expected to be released in the fall of 2026.

HarperOne, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, recently announced, “This intimate portrayal of Ethel Skakel Kennedy provides a distinctive insight into the life of a woman whose kindness, strength, and commitment to justice have made a lasting impact on American history.”

At the age of 65, Kerry Kennedy is one of eleven siblings of Ethel Kennedy and Robert Kennedy. Robert Kennedy, a prominent figure who served as the attorney general, U.S. senator, and a presidential candidate, tragically succumbed to assassination in 1968. Ethel Kennedy, who passed away at the age of 96 in 2024, was a passionate activist and the founder of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights, later renamed Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights. Kerry Kennedy currently holds the position of president at the organization.

“Ethel” was co-written by Kerry Kennedy and author Maryanne Vollers, who has worked on books by Hillary Rodham Clinton and Billie Jean King among others.

“Kerry Kennedy draws upon her personal experiences and deep admiration to tell the story of her mother’s life,” according to HarperOne. “From Ethel’s early years as a spirited young woman to her enduring influence as a matriarch of one of America’s most storied families, ‘Ethel’ is an exploration of courage, empathy, and the power of activism.”
