Strictly Come Dancing fans say Ellie Leach is the runaway favourite to win the BBC final this Saturday.

The race for the coveted Glitterball trophy has been hotly contested and will come down to a battle between the Coronation Street star and fellow finalists Bobby Brazier and Layton Williams.

The remaining three couples will take to the dancefloor for the final time this weekend, performing three different routines in a last ditch attempt to impress the judges and the public.

The couples will each perform their favourite dance from the series, plus a show dance and a dance that has been selected for them by the judges to secure their votes.

But William Hill has already backed Ellie and her professional partner Vita Coppola as the “overwhelming” winners for this year, with odds of 1/12 to lift the trophy,

The betting firm said Ellie has attracted a whopping 71% of the bookmaker’s total stakes since last week’s semi-finals, making her the clear pick with the public to win the series.

Layton and Bobby will need to overturn a significant margin to secure victory, with the duo trading at odds of 7/1 and 16/1 respectively.

William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps said: “This Saturday’s Strictly Final could still yet throw some last-minute surprises, but there seems to be no stopping Ellie Leach ahead of the series climax – a sentiment certainly evident amongst our customers.

“The Coronation Street star has been responsible for almost three quarters of the money we’ve received in the outright winner market since the climax of last weekend’s semi-finals, with the public almost unanimous in their support for her chances of winning this weekend’s final.

“Such notable backing has had a subsequent effect in the prices of the final three contestants, with Ellie the runaway 1/12 favourite ahead of Layton Williams (7/1) and Bobby Brazier (16/1).”

Fans agree that Ellie is the clear winner for this year and have praised her development over the course of the series.

@RyanTheSoapking said: “Ellie’s brilliant and has been consistent. Vito’s Choreo has really brought the best out of Ellie as well. She’s definitely my winner and she’s grown so much in confidence.

@gosulli wrote: “Think I want this pair to win – not only for Ellie’s journey & how her confidence has grown as a woman, but also just to see Vito’s reaction if he hears his name!”

@creativekitty commented: “Ellie is the winner for me this year. Hands down.”

@PaaWOWW said: “I’m hardly an expert but week after week I’m finding a lot of nit picking of Ellie. To me, again not a professional, she deserves to win!”

@aandersonn26 added: “IDC WHAT ANYONE SAYS, ELLIE AND VITO DESERVE ALL TENS WHEN WILL THEY GET THIS. ELLIE AND VITO ARE AMAZING AND EVERY WEEK THEY HAVE PULLED IT OUT OF THE BAG! MY WINNERS.”

@megsmawx wrote: “Ellie & Vito for me, she’s been incredible all series.”

The grand final will be broadcast on BBC One on Saturday at 7pm and BBC iPlayer.
