Teen 'killer' Karmelo Anthony appears stone-faced as he is hit with brutal question after being FREED from jail

The teenager accused of stabbing another student at a high school track meet was stone-faced as he walked free from jail.

Karmelo Anthony, 17, posted bond on Monday after a judge lowered the amount from $1million to $250,000.

Anthony faced a barrage of questions regarding the death of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf, who passed away in his twin brother’s arms after a confrontation on April 2. Despite the intense questioning, Anthony remained resolute.

Exiting Collin County Jail on Monday afternoon, Anthony was stoic in a gray suit jacket and black collared shirt. Indifferent to the commotion around him, he marched towards the awaiting car with a steely gaze fixed straight ahead.

‘Karmelo, why were you armed at school?’ he was asked during the short walk, in video shared by Fox 4.

‘Explain your self defense. How was this self defence?’ the reporter continued as she fell into lockstep with Anthony and his entourage.

‘Karmelo, do you have anything you’d like to say to the victim? To the family of the victim?’

Appearing in court on Monday, the 17-year-old is charged with first-degree murder in connection to Metcalf’s tragic demise. The incident occurred during a fatal altercation at a track meet between students from different schools.

He has amassed more than $415,000 in donations since the alleged crime amid an outpouring of support.

But that money, his family argued, was to fund his legal defense and to pay for them to relocate and hire security to escape chilling death threats they’ve received during the highly publicized case.

During the hearing, prosecutors had asked his father Andrew Anthony why he could not use the more than $415,000 in donated funds for his son’s defense to pay the original $1million bond, given it had been reduced to $250,000.

The revelation about how the family intends to spend the cash comes after a spokesperson for said they can’t leave their home after their address was leaked online.

They had been subjected to ‘graphic and racist threats,’ the spokesperson said, which included images of ‘black children with knives stuck in their head.’

Anthony’s attorney Michael Howard said, regarding the money: ‘It would be disingenuous to say there isn’t money… But it is not a bond fund. This family needs to be able to survive.’

As per his bail conditions, Anthony will have to wear an ankle monitor and won’t be able to leave his parents’ home without permission from Judge Angela Tucker.

Anthony’s father and mother said their son is an A student and captain of the football and track teams at his high school.

He was described as the oldest of three children who had never been arrested before Metcalf’s murder.

He was the captain of his football and track teams at school and worked at Foot Locker, as well as a second job at a H-E-B supermarket prior to the stabbing.

A spokesman for the Anthony family was previously forced to deny that the accused killer had been bullied by Austin before the fatal confrontation at the match. The two boys had never met one another prior to the horrific stabbing.

An arrest report says a confrontation between the two star football players began when Metcalf told Anthony he was sitting under another team’s pop-up tent and told him to move, as reported by NBC DFW.

The two students from opposing high schools began fighting before Karmelo unzipped his bag and reached in, telling Austin: ‘Touch me and see what happens.’

The report says Austin then ‘grabbed Anthony to tell him to move and Anthony pulled out … a black knife and stabbed Austin once in the chest.’

Anthony reportedly ran away before being arrested by responding officers.

He had reportedly told a school resource officer: ‘I was protecting myself,’ and, ‘He put his hands on me.’
