CHILLING footage has emerged showing a man armed with a huge knife running through the streets of Barcelona.
A video shared on social media depicts an armed suspect running through the streets of Placa de Sant Jaume, charging at people with loud screams heard in the background.
The man can be seen running through a narrow alley surrounded by gothic-style buildings while brandishing his sharp blade.
Chilling screams can be heard from other people nearby who fled the scene to escape the horror.
At one point, the man with the knife can be seen facing one of the locals who was filming the incident on his phone.
He appeared to be chasing an old man in a black t-shirt.
Local media reports that the man allegedly attacked another person on the head.
Cops have now arrested the man and an investigation is underway, according to local media outlet El Caso.
The suspect is said to be suffering from mental health problems, the outlet reported.
The motive behind the attack is still unknown.
